Course Outline

Introduction

Data management involves the storage and processing of data. Within an enterprise environment, this process becomes significantly more complex. Managing large volumes of data requires careful attention to processing speed, security, sharing protocols, and analysis capabilities.

This course is designed for entry-level engineers. It explores the technologies, tools, architectures, and design methodologies utilized to handle large-scale data. The curriculum covers both traditional relational databases and newer, less structured data approaches.

Participants will compare traditional file systems with distributed file systems, and traditional server architectures with clustered server architectures, all within the context of managing and processing big data across distributed environments.

Attendees will complete hands-on exercises and assessments, followed by instructor coaching and group discussions.
