  • Delivery of a pre-prepared training session on a work-related topic of the participant’s choice.

Note: The duration of each participant's session depends on the overall course length and the number of attendees. A group size of eight is ideal.

  • Comprehensive individual and group feedback

Preparing the Training Session

  • Key questions for the trainer to address in advance:
    • Why was I selected for this role?
    • What are the logistics regarding what, where, when, how, and duration?
    • How do the answers to these questions influence the session’s structure?
  • Structuring the content:
    • Conducting research to ensure subject mastery
    • Organizing the content logically
    • Creating and integrating complementary visual aids

Preparing the Trainer

  • Three fundamental communication tools for trainers:
    • Verbal – Choice of words, avoiding slang and jargon
    • Vocal – Tone and clarity, eliminating distracting verbal habits
    • Visual – Professional appearance, demeanor, and presence
  • Rehearsing the session and obtaining honest feedback from a trusted source
  • Strategies for managing nervousness

Preparing the Environment

  • Room layouts – Understanding how seating arrangements convey underlying messages to attendees
  • Leveraging the physical space to enhance the training experience
  • Post-session cleanup and organization

Evaluation

  • The importance of evaluation
  • Processes for collecting and utilizing participant feedback

Training Skills – Revisited

  • Delivery of a second training session (following adequate preparation time).
