About This Course
This five-day course equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to plan and administer a Microsoft SharePoint 2016 environment. As the first course in a two-part series tailored for IT professionals, it aligns directly with the SharePoint 2016 IT Pro certification.
Audience Profile
This course is designed for experienced IT professionals seeking to master the installation, configuration, deployment, and management of SharePoint 2016 in either on-premises data centers or cloud environments.
Participants typically possess over one year of hands-on experience* in planning and maintaining SharePoint, along with two years of experience working with core technologies that SharePoint relies on. These include Windows Server 2012 R2 or later, Internet Information Services (IIS), Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or later, Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), and networking infrastructure services.
The minimally qualified candidate generally:
- Is an IT professional responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining multi-server SharePoint 2016 deployments.
- Has working knowledge, and preferably hands-on experience, with SharePoint Online.
- Is broadly familiar with SharePoint workloads.
- Has experience in business continuity management, including data backup, restoration, and high availability strategies.
- Is experienced with authentication and security technologies.
- Has practical experience using Windows PowerShell.
* Hands-on or job experience should stem from a solutions-based role where the candidate has worked on multiple SharePoint solutions encompassing document management, content management, and search capabilities.
