Course structure summary:

  1. The legislative background of data protection.
  2. Core principles of data protection and relevant terminology.
  3. Lawful grounds for the processing of personal data.
  4. Governance and accountability frameworks for data protection within organizations.
  5. The relationship between Controllers and Processors, including the role of third parties.
  6. International transfers of personal data to third countries or organizations.
  7. Rights of data subjects.
  8. The function of the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and Independent Supervisory Authorities (ISAs).
  9. Data breaches, enforcement mechanisms, and liability issues.
  10. Processing of personal data concerning children.
  11. The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations (PECR) 2003.

NobleProg serves as a BCS Accredited Training Provider.

The course is taught by a NobleProg trainer who has received approval from BCS.

The fee covers the full delivery of the course syllabus by a BCS-approved trainer, as well as the BCS Practitioner Data Protection exam. This exam can be taken remotely at your convenience under central invigilation by BCS. Candidates who successfully pass the exam (a multiple-choice format requiring a minimum score of 65%) will be awarded the accredited BCS Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection.

Requirements

While holding the BCS Foundation Certificate in Data Protection is highly desirable, it is not a strict requirement for enrollment.

We strongly advise candidates to participate in an accredited training program and ensure they are thoroughly familiar with the GDPR, the course syllabus, and any prescribed reading materials.
