Design Patterns
14 HoursThere are numerous well-established patterns readily accessible to all. Occasionally, it involves modifying names and implementing these patterns within specific technologies. This approach can save hundreds of hours that would otherwise be spent on design and testing. Training Objectives: This course has two primary objectives—firstly, enabling the reuse of commonly recognized patterns; secondly, facilitating the creation and reuse of organization-specific patterns. It assists in evaluating how patterns can cut costs, standardize the design process, and develop a code framework based on your unique patterns. Intended Audience: Software designers, business analysts, project managers, programmers, developers, operational managers, and software division managers. Course Approach: The course emphasizes use cases and their connection to specific patterns. Many examples are demonstrated using UML and simple Java illustrations (the programming language can be adjusted if the course is booked as an exclusive session). It also guides you through the origins of these patterns and shows how to catalog and document them for reuse within your organization.

Design Thinking
4 HoursOverview:
The Design Thinking (DT) process consists of five stages: empathize, define the problem, ideate, prototype, and test.
In today's increasingly complex world, we often encounter problems that require specialized approaches. Design Thinking is a powerful method for addressing these complex challenges. By mastering design thinking, individuals can effectively tackle complex issues, communicate more clearly, persuade more efficiently, improve business outcomes, and enhance both organizational and personal performance.
- How DT works: learn from people and the problem at hand, identify patterns, create a model (addressing model drift), test the model, evaluate it, and re-engineer as necessary.
- The relationship between Design Thinking, innovation, and entrepreneurship is crucial for driving progress and success.
- DT methods and tools include persona creation, stakeholder mapping, customer journey maps, service blueprints, and business model innovation.
- The application of DT encompasses a design mindset, disruptive innovation, an iterative approach, agile estimation techniques, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, teamwork, leadership readiness, effective communication, technological proficiency, forward-thinking, intercultural and ethical competency, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, negotiating skills, and conflict resolution.
Objectives:
- To understand the core principles and subtleties of Design Thinking
- To explore key concepts, factors, theories, types, and models in DT
- To experiment with, experience, and practice Design Thinking
Delivery:
This is a 1-day (4-hour) training course that includes:
- Lectures (40% - presentation of theories, concepts, models, and interactive sessions),
- Group exercises (30% - group activities, games, discussions, and mock conflict resolution exercises),
- Individual activities (15% - writing, designing, and peer discussions)
- Other elements (15% - videos and readings).
Note: Due to the nature of this course, there is a minimum group size requirement of 3 participants.
