Day Four

Value Creation and Measurement

Continuing from the previous day, this module focuses on internal value creation and the measurement of that value. While tangible efforts are easier to quantify, this section also highlights intangible value. Companies must account for intangible benefits created during digital transformations. Business cases are introduced as they form the foundation for any strategy, plan, or policy.

The final element of the THRIVE framework covers Enterprise. This principle views the organization as a whole and is critical because transformation cannot succeed if treated as an isolated strategy. Enterprise Management

This module reviews the management areas required for transformation, emphasizing portfolio, program, and project management. It also highlights Organizational Change Management (OCM), explaining the significant role an OCM committee plays in business transformation. While firm procedures are necessary, we also discuss the need for agility and adaptability to changing circumstances.

Day Five

  1. Transformation Roadmap

Day Five concludes the course by walking through the 10 phases of the transformation roadmap that organizations undergo during digital business transformation. A roadmap helps everyone in the organization understand each step of the journey. The THRIVE framework provides the principles to build a roadmap tailored to the company’s specific environment.

Phase 1 explains the roadmap, followed by steps such as aligning leadership, analyzing the market, establishing responses, and activating transformation readiness. The remaining phases are detailed in the next section.

An effective roadmap must be holistic, applying all THRIVE principles. This module ensures these lessons are implemented in the correct sequence. It covers the remaining phases: strategic innovation, preparation, prioritization, business case presentation, portfolio definition, and execution. We also conduct a digital business case exercise to apply these lessons practically.

Course Conclusion

This final module summarizes the lessons learned. We compare two firms—one adhering to THRIVE principles and one that does not—to demonstrate the framework's importance, universality, and adaptability to various corporate objectives. We also review a short clip on why immediate digital transformation is necessary for today’s companies.
